Nutritional Therapy
Angela Bailey
Nutritional therapy is about much more than just healthy eating or weight management. It can be used to treat a wide variety of health complaints, including:
- Digestive problems
- Cardiovascular issues, such as high cholesterol or high blood pressure
- Male and female hormonal health including fertility problems, the menopause and PMS
- Thyroid problems
- Osteoporosis, arthritis and other joint or muscular complaints
- Depression, headaches and other nervous system disorders
- Allergies and skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis.
Our bodies are highly dependent on a myriad of nutrients and micronutrients in order to function properly. Imbalances or shortages of these key nutrients can cause a range of symptoms from low energy, persistent colds/infections, aches and pains to more major complaints. By becoming more aware of the way in which foods can be used to provide those valuable nutrients, you will see just how much you can benefit your overall health in simple easy steps.
If you decide to choose nutritional therapy as a way of tackling your health problems, I will first ask you to complete one of my nutrition and health assessment questionnaires, prior to your initial consultation. This will give me a comprehensive overview of you and enable me to analyse your diet and lifestyle so that during the consultation we can agree on appropriate changes to your diet that are realistic and achievable for you. During this initial consultation we can also discuss the possible use of laboratory tests to help diagnose imbalances and deficiencies, thus helping to fine-tune your nutrition programme.
Bioelectrical Impedance Testing
You may also be interested in a test using a bioelectrical impedance machine. By testing 52 acupressure points on the hands and feet, it is possible to measure the energy along the meridian channels of the body, and from this, produce a computer-generated chart which shows possible imbalances in the main body systems. These instant results help immediately to formulate your nutrition and supplement programme specifically for your needs.
Short Spring Clean Programme
Whatever the time of year, if you are basically fit and healthy but just are feeling a bit sluggish and want a boost, how about trying out my short detox diet, which includes supplements to help support the detoxification process? This may not be suitable for all, but the best course of action can be discussed with you during your first consultation.
If you would like a questionnaire, further information on tests or would like a list of my fees, please contact the Chester Wellness Centre.
